California and New York-based complex litigation boutique is seeking a Paralegal. The position will initially be office-based but can transition to hybrid by mutual agreement.

Successful candidates will have significant litigation paralegal experience. In addition, candidates must have experience working within a legal calendar management system and advanced skills in document management platforms. Candidates who are friendly, accommodating, and flexible are all pluses and will contribute to success in the position.

Please note that this position is for current litigation paralegals residing in California or New York with at least five years of experience.

Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Manage discovery, including complex electronic discovery and third-party subpoenas.
  • Support and manage document collections and productions.
  • Gather information from clients to draft discovery.
  • Enter pertinent client, court-related, and other case milestone information into the electronic calendaring system.
  • Create, save, manipulate, revise, and manage written work in an existing document management platform.
  • Prepare, file, and serve pleadings in state and federal court, including preparing cite checks and tables of contents and authorities.
  • Organize supporting documents for depositions, hearings, and trial.
  • Provide support during arbitration and trial, including witness coordination and interfacing with court personnel and third-party vendors.
  • Organize and schedule depositions and oversee all related needs.
  • Exhibit preparation for motions and productions.
  • Maintain accurate electronic client files and other documentation.
  • Conduct legal research with direction.
  • Other litigation paralegal duties as required.

Qualifications:

  • A minimum of three to five years of previous legal administrative support experience.
  • Certificate from an ABA-approved paralegal program.
  • Significant experience and a high comfort level using remote communication platforms such as Zoom and Teams, including the ability to troubleshoot these systems.
  • Extensive trial preparation experience.
  • Proven proficiency in the MS Suite of applications, legal time and billing systems, and records management software.
  • The ability to multi-task and manage multiple moving parts of client engagements.
  • Superior organization and time management skills.
  • Proven and polished attention to detail.
  • Ability to work overtime as required, sometimes on short notice.
  • Excellent spoken and written English.
  • Ability to sit at a desk for prolonged periods and lift to 25lbs occasionally.
