About the Role

In this function, you will provide legal support and coordination to the Global Employment Law team for Gap Inc.’s Legal Department to enable business growth and mitigate risk. You will need to be customer curious to learn more about the business and its challenges. You’ll need to understand the big picture strategy and speak with candor when working with cross-functional teams and external partners to drive business solutions and in accordance with the law.

What You'll Do

  • Develops and builds relationships with business partners and outside counsel to effectively manage and complete work.
  • Manage and prioritize business critical projects and mitigate risk by escalating appropriately to drive results.
  • Supports strategies, standards, and processes using a customer centric mindset to deliver results and maximize efficiencies and productivity
  • Proactively identify and assess potential legal and/or reputational risk in support of business partners both in and outside of the United States, and recommending practical, creative solutions that balance legal risk with business impact for consideration by Legal manager
  • Draft memos, letters, agreements; Able to communicate difficult concepts in a simple manner 
  • Ensure proper level of maintenance of official corporate records

Who You Are

  • Experience and understanding of Employment Law and working for Employment Legal Team
  • Knowledge and understanding of work specific to local, state, and federal law
  • Experience working in a law firm or in a corporate legal department
  • Manage multiple demands at once, work well under pressure
  • Manages responsibilities confidently as unexpected issues arise
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, including the ability to negotiate and influence across multiple stakeholders and functions
  • Present problem analysis and recommended solutions in a creative and logical manner
